Michael Ziegler, D.Min.
Michael has lead individuals in expanded states of consciousness for 40 years. He is interested in the skillful means intersecting meditation, psychoactives, somatic practice and meaning making- refining methods that re-contextualize ancient wisdom practices for modern explorers.
Inspired by his experiences with LSD and mescaline in the 60’s Michael moved to Asia in the 1970’s to study contemplative practices that offered alternative maps of human consciousness (Zen, Theravada Buddhism, Ashtanga Yoga, Tai Chi). He has had a long engagement with plant medicine neo-shamanism.
Michael has been on the faculty of Naropa University, The University of Creation Spirituality, The Chaplaincy Institute, and the California Institute of Integral Studies. He has been a co-founder of numerous institutions including: The Chaplaincy Insitute, The Ketamine Research Foundation, Seventh Heaven Body Awareness Center (Namaste Yoga), and The Green Earth Foundation.
Michael’s current focus is to promote the unique knowledge and skill sets developed by the Guild of Guides and to support initiatives that can refine the best practices and core competencies for psychedelic guides.
